EnvisionEDGE

Discover how to simplify your site infrastructure with a single device for managed networking (SD-WAN, MPLS), edge security (SSE) including zero trust, local compute and routing (DIA). Benefit from End-to-end virtualization and orchestration and how to deploy new service-chained edge capabilities in near real-time as your site requirements evolve. Deploy your own workloads onto the EnvisionEDGE device, simplifying your on-site deployment.

Businesses today often have locations across multiple geographic regions, for example manufacturers with distributed warehouses and shop floors, retailers with global locations and enterprises with distributed sites require secure cloud networking.

With a growing diversified workforce and increasing customer demand, the need to simplify the current state of networking and security deployments continues to rise every year. Industries have typically been implementing these solutions that require a tech stack of  on-site hardware like routers and firewalls, multiple vendors and truck rolls for installation, maintenance, upgrades and replacements driving increased wait time, outages and equipment swaps— all of which drive up costs and introduce gaps in security due to lack of communication. Networking and security are only as strong as their weakest link. Businesses should no longer be burdened with contracting with and managing multiple vendors to meet their networking security and cloud needs to keep up with the demand of their employees and customers. The ability to deploy and change networking, security and cloud functionality at the edge — all in a single device — should be simple and standard. The era of relying on heavy hardware solutions and physical delivery and maintenance to support complex requirements and workloads is over.

What is EnvisionEDGE?

  • EnvisionEDGE is a Managed Customer Premise Devices: EnvisionEDGE provides a suite of managed devices that support software-defined networking (SD-WAN), virtualized security and cloud compute functions.
  • A simple path to increase flexibility and Integration: These devices allow for the deployment of multiple networking and security functions without needing to replace the hardware. This flexibility is crucial for adapting to changing network conditions
  • An enabler of Global Connectivity: EnvisionEDGE leverages GTT’s extensive network of over 2,600 global access partners, ensuring robust and reliable connectivity
  • A tool for Unified Management: The platform integrates with EnvisionDX, GTT’s digital gateway, providing a single interface for managing and customizing network and security functions
  • A solution for Enhanced Security: It includes features like managed firewalls and dedicated internet access routing, which help secure enterprise networks against evolving threats

EnvisionEDGE is one of the three key components of GTT Envision:

  1. EnvisionEDGE: This component allows for the deployment, observation, and automation of various virtualized functions directly at the premises. It simplifies site infrastructure by combining managed networking, secure service edge (SSE), local compute, and routing into one device
  2. EnvisionCORE: This is the central hub for orchestrating virtualized network functions across global locations. It provides scalable connectivity and security infrastructure integrated into GTT’s Tier 1 IP backbone
  3. EnvisionDX: A digital gateway that offers visibility, management, and on-demand customization of the entire network. It allows businesses to visualize data, customize network services, and manage various aspects of their network from a single interface

Why is it important to me?

EnvisionEDGE devices are designed for seamless adaptability. It eliminates the physical updates for new services, hardware or changes to services after initial installation. Serving today’s use cases —such as WAN optimization, network segmentation and business resilience — GTT enables the agility to adapt to changing business requirements. Continuously adapt the networking, security and cloud compute via virtualized functionality without the hassle or cost of ‘ripping and replacing’ on-site equipment. EnvisionEDGE offers the ability to deploy virtual network functions (VNFs) across different topologies and service chains. Use EnvisionEDGE to deploy Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), WAN Optimization, Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), and Managed Firewall, providing a consistent physical infrastructure and management plane.
